When you are looking for things to do in Bideford and the surrounding areas, the first thing that springs to mind is, of course, the beach! Westward Ho! and Instow beach are approximately a 10-minute drive from Woodside, with Saunton Sands around 30 minutes away, plus, Croyde and Woolacombe beach only a further 10-15.

These are some of the finest sandy beaches that the UK has to offer, perfect for surfing, long walks and sunbathing – weather permitting! All beaches are completely dog-friendly, year-round, too.

Train Stations

The closest train station is Barnstaple, a Great Western Railway Service. In the car, it is a 15-minute drive away. As well as this, Chapelton Train station and Umberleigh train station are an 18-minute drive away.?

Airport

The nearest airport is Exeter. This is 40 miles from Bideford. You can get a train from Exeter to Barnstaple which takes 1 hour 14 minutes.
